Information about The Ideas and History behind Amibench

Its been some months since I first had the idea for "AmiBench", its been a long hard struggle, sometimes I thought that We wouldn't make it.

This is a Unique Service for the Amiga, it's a live constantly updating free advert site - this means you can post an advert for Amiga goods that you wish to sell, Not only to the local Amiga Community, but to the International One too.

This site is still in development, But We felt the need to alert the Amiga world to the services its already running.

This free advert service is open to anyone in any country, at any-time of the day or night, 365 days a year. We hope its going to be a success, but for it to succeed we need you and the Amiga Community's help. All you need to do is use the service, and tell others, that's it. It really is that simple.

The History of Amibench

16 Jun 1997 - Got server space from Geert Bevin of NATW fame.
17 Jun 1997 - Geert Bevin becomes a member of the AmiBench Team along with me.
20 Jun 1997 - Now the Hardwork begins, Need to find a Cgi Scripter.
23 Jun 1997 - Malcolm Parsons is the new Member of the AmiBench Team
22 Jul 1997 - site revamped and updated.
23 Aug 1997 - site cleanup and re-org of html layout (looks better).
30 Aug 1997 - First AmiBench Cgi Scripts are Written by Malcolm.
08 Sep 1997 - site cleanup :\ and Cgi script for the adverts goes live
10 Sep 1997 - Site cleanup and new Cgi Scripts installed.>
13 Sep 1997 - AmiBench is listed on the Amiga Web Directory
15 Sep 1997 - AmiBench Cgi scripts tweeked again by Malcolm.
17 Sep 1997 - AmiBench gains a Wanted adverts page.
26 Sep 1997 - AmiBench is offically open and is a success.
16 Oct 1997 - Hear that AmiBench made it to Cu Amiga's November issue.
19 Oct 1997 - Read what Cu Amiga said about AmiBench, and laughed!
03 Nov 1997 - Start work on AmiBench's new Project.
09 Nov 1997 - New page goes up, lets people Submit Amiga Retailers to us for a New Database. See it here
10 Nov 1997 - Start work on the Stores Database page and Also updated this page.
